Return of the King :)

Hello! Time goes fast. What have I've done? Well, I have swam in different places in Estonia and traveled around quite a bit. Once I've was even in south Estonia where I met Margus. U know, this better and cooler Estonian in NH. We went swimming in Latvia, he showed me Valga (small border town), we BBQ and went in sauna.

Also what is worth mentioning is that we gathered a small team of friends and went to one of the hardest hiking competition in Estonia, Erna hike. I'm sad to say that we canceled after 18,5h. But it was hard. We had to orienteer with a base map where 1cm is equal to 500m. It a lot bigger ratio and less detailed than usual orieteering map. The terrain was mostly hard forrest (most of the roads were forbiden or there were patrols who had to catch teams). In checkpoints we did fairly well (diving, climbing, first aid etc) but at the end our painful wet feet and too heavy bags (I don't know how heavy was it at the beginning but at the end it was 13kg) broke us.

Now I have to say sorry to out dear Mira! She have answered to my sms' and asked about me but I've been too busy/tired/lazy to answer at that point. Well, I'm quite fine. I got one new fantastic friend, I've had fun with older friends, I've visited nice places etc. Sure, I've also wasted time and been lazy. :( There is hot too and sometimes rainy. Big thunderstorms are also visited us leaving houses (even one church) without roofs and breaking down a lot of trees (after one storm we saw hundreds of meters long road strips under trees). Only problem is that I'm quite bankrupt. I miss U too very much and I repay your hugs with twice as many. :) Btw, we STILL wait pictures of your butterflies!

Funny thing is that sometimes while speaking estonian english word comes in or in the middle of sentence I start speaking in english or I know the english word and have to think few seconds to remind estonian meaning. :D

Now... I lost track. What I wanted to write at first place. Well, I'm postponing my future every day. I'm to lazy or afraid to start looking what to do where. But I still think that Amsterdam with Gabor is the best bet. Guys, U should push me harder to look for a job etc. :)

Emm... I got writers block now. If I had something else to say I will write a new post. 'Till then - bye and I love u!

  1. hello guys,

i wrote a comment on Friday night, you know me - a quite emotional one, but once i wanted to post it the pc i was using came up with an error message something like "were you talking to me? sorry dude i haven't noticed" and the masterpiece was gone. It's a shame really as - maybe for the first time ever - i was expressing my kindest thoughts about you, how much i miss you, etc, it was a special moment indeed... and i wonder if such moment will come ever again in the future... :) Anyway, i am glad Mira posted her long-awaited post and Leho found out how to switch on his/someone else's computer and commented too.

I am also happy to join your "dontknowwhattodowithourlife" club, I think many of us have this feeling quite often, and although a very nice position is waiting for me in Amsterdam, whether it will give new perspective and meaning to my life remains to be seen. I think "life" is a heavy word and we ought not to use it often in full meaning. As it changes all the time I think it's enough to plan for the next few years. In case of Mira this means university. If I were (so lucky to be) her, I'd check what I can do in the gap-year to improve my chances in Roskilde from next September. I'd check out opportunities abroad, book a ticket and leave Hungary before my full CV gets over 20kgs (unless you can afford non-discount airlines). But before that happens I would take every opportunity to improve and prepare for the adventure - as it keeps you focused and you feel determined and don't suffer the "iamdoingnothing" schizophrenia. So, basically, my advice is simple: do something useful to keep yourself occupied. :) You could also check out if you could still apply for a Hungarian university starting this September - you could loose nothing, even if you admitted you can decide later to start or not, and if you start it you can still move to Roskilde afterwards. Or to Amsterdam... :)

As Amsterdam is a cool place to be at and hope I will stuck there and some of you will join me. I wonder if i can be lucky enough to have you both - even the thought brings tears to my eyes... :) Anyway, as I've written before I'm on probation period for a month, so until 1 October. During September I will be staying at my friend's (Laci or Laszlo) flat and start looking for an own flat from the beginning of October, most probably in Haarlem (10mins away from Amsterdam) as the prices are more friendly there and Laci and his girlfriend (Reka) are close. The prices are starting from 5-600e a month for an apartment for one, and we can find bigger ones (for 2-3people) for 8-900. I am quite happy to choose a bigger one if you promise at that time that you are coming, but then please do your best and come cause normally you have to rent a flat for one full year and I do not want to pay that extra 2-300e monthly even if you are not turning up. At the beginning I am willing to let you stay for free, or for a discounted price while you are looking for jobs/getting stronger financially. I think I also can help you if you come earlier as Laci has a rented flat too - but just until the end of September. And I have to check with him if we are to use that flat; i am not sure about the conditions, but those should be advantageous. And of course if it would suit you more, we can rent a flat in Amsterdam instead of Haarlem - for 2-3 people it should be affordable. (Although Haarlem is only 1 stop by train and halfway I have seen a huge open-air climbing wall too, Leho... and with its 150,000 inhabitants Haarlem is big enough to live in.) But whatever we choose it will have to be mutual agreement...

  2. and for that we need to communicate somehow. Miss Master of All Games suggested to use skype and it's a good idea, however, I am not sure when I will have time to chat - I am going back to Hungary tomorrow, will spend 9-10 days there in 2-3 cities (city of friends, city of parents, city of relatives) and fly to Holland on 26 August, so I expect to be busy most of the times. If I know more I will let you know.

OK, that's all folks, I'm off, pls let us know what you think and sleep well, have a nice day, have another cake, all the best, etc.
    G.
PS1:teagirl - if you go to Budapest in the next 10 days pls let me know; I'm dying to see the Inception, we could watch it together if you feel like it. It would be cool to meet, especially in the cinema cause then we do not have to talk at all... :) this was a joke of course, it's always a pleasure to meet you AND talk :)
PS2: Leho, this hiking competition sounds really nice, we could try a softer version together later on... I have been already looking for places in Belgium where we can do some canoeing and kayaking...
